A school approached us as they were looking for a suitable floor for their climbing wall area. Located in a disused squash court, they needed answers to their flooring questions. The foam mats are not drop tested, and the UK free climb height is 1.5m (anything above this needs to be a rope climb) so their mats were just not up to the job. The foam mats also degrade quickly and actually deform with constant use.
Action
Our resin bound recycled rubber crumb was the perfect solution to their issue. All of our resin bound surfaces are critical fall height certified, so the 1.5m fall height requirement was fine. We provided a 75mm deep covering across the entire surface. The entire install process took just 1 day to complete and was ready for use 24 hours later.
Result
We created a stunning safety surface from recycled vehicle tyres that is soft, durable and safe. We used a mix of grey and terracotta crumb to give a natural and bright finish. The client was delighted with this and amazed at how the new floor had given the climbing area a big lift!
